We had a great holiday, thank you so much for your organisation. The traveling went well, although it was a good job we stayed over in Santorini on the way out as our flight was delayed and I think we would’ve had a job to catch the ferry.
The hotel was perfect, our room was lovely, and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. I will attach some photographs so you can see for yourself. The only thing that was a little disturbing when we arrived was that unfortunately, in front of the hotel is a hotel being built. Of course, we weren’t sure whether they were working on the hotel and we were a bit dismayed by that. Fortunately, there is no building work allowed in the summer in Greece, but it is a little bit of an eyesore and a shame that it will take away some of the sea view that the hotel now has. That said, a finished building would look better than the building site.
The beach is about a five-minute walk down the road, the water was lovely, and the sand rather gravelly due to the fact that the island is made of a stone called emery, which is the hardest stone next to diamonds. Consequently, the sand is a little hard! Beaches further down are also beautiful.
The little village nearby had several restaurants and bars. It took around 15 minutes to walk there, and we found a particularly nice restaurant with beautiful views of the bay.
The transfer back from the hotel to the ferry station was not ideal as we did get picked up quite early and visited a few hotels to collect other clients. Also, when I asked the lady on the bus something about the ferry, she said she didn’t know anything! Additionally, the bus had no seatbelts and the roads are rather dangerous.
Anyway, I thought I’d fill you in a bit just in case you had any other clients who were looking for something similar. We enjoyed it enough to consider going again next year. We are suitably rested and struggling to get going again!
Thank you both again for all your help, we were so in need of this holiday. I have shown pictures of different rooms and of the unfinished building. There are several new rooms which were lovely and beautifully finished.
