At Easter 2008, I went with a friend on a Nile Cruise. The tour was excellent in all aspects and still ranks very highly in my list of top holidays. The holiday was booked by Isabel at Spear Travels, who did a lot of research on different travel companies and she could not have been more helpful and supportive in helping us make the final decision. This was my first experience with Spear Travels Wolverhampton and as a consequence of her professionalism, I have used them to book many subsequent holidays.

All four of the current staff members are concerned with finding you the perfect holiday and not just looking for the next holiday booking. I have witnessed staff trying to find the right holiday for clients who really don’t know what they want. Having spent considerable time searching, they have never put pressure on for a booking but have sent clients away with a lot of information and time to think. They are incredibly professional even when clients are unrealistic in what they want.

Although I tend to refer to Isabel every time I book a holiday, all of the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and will help with any queries that I may have. My latest trip was a solo trip to Namibia, which is a favourite destination of Emma. She answered all my questions on everything from currency to the clothes I needed with patience and honesty and as a result, I had a very successful holiday.

I went to India with a friend when they first introduced an electronic visa which meant we had to send a photograph in the correct format; neither of us could manage it (despite both being reasonably good at IT). We went into Spear Travels for help and it took Isabel, Kim, and us two at least 2 hours to manage to complete the task. The help was freely given despite the fact that both Kim and Isabel would have had their own work to do; another example of the professionalism one finds here.

It is often more telling about a company when things go wrong and sadly there have been problems. The first was when a friend and I were caught in Egypt for 11 days additional to our holiday following the ‘ash cloud’. Despite Spear Travels having many clients in a similar situation, they contacted our travel company in the UK because we couldn’t and gave us the advice we needed. Similarly, during Covid, when most staff were furloughed, Kim rearranged a pre-booked holiday twice and then the company went into liquidation. Despite the bureaucracy, Kim persevered in getting our money refunded; again there would have been many, many clients in the same situation.

I have recently encountered a medical condition which has temporarily prevented me from traveling, resulting in canceling two holidays as well as finding travel insurance very difficult to find for future travels. I have had incredible support from all members at Spear Travels in helping me sort things out.

I really cannot imagine booking a holiday without Spear Travels Wolverhampton because of the professionalism, friendliness, knowledge, and understanding of everybody who works there.
