Regent Cruise Tour Itinerary
Embark on an enchanting tour on the Danube River. Dock in quaint European cities and towns, from Passau to Budapest and be swept away by the history and fairytale-like sights.
Day 1 – Arrive Munich, Passau, Embark Ship
Fly from the UK to Munich, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your river ship, moored on the Danube River. Settle into your accommodation and begin your river cruise experience in the heart of Bavaria’s capital city.
Day 2 – Passau, Germany
In beautiful Passau, enjoy a guided walking tour through the historic Altstadt, exploring its cobbled streets and notable landmarks. Afterwards, take part in a special Insider Experience, offering a unique opportunity to discover more of the city’s culture, heritage and local traditions.
Day 3 – Linz, Austria
Today, choose an optional excursion to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic or Salzburg (additional cost). Alternatively, spend time at leisure in Linz, exploring independently, relaxing on board, or enjoying the city’s shops, cafés and attractions at your own pace.
Day 4 – Melk, Dürnstein, Austria
Join a guided tour of Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089. Cruise through the scenic Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, where you have a free afternoon to explore. Alternatively, join an optional wine tasting tour (additional cost) and sample some of the region’s renowned wines.
Day 5 – Vienna, Austria
Embrace the elegance of Vienna with a drive along the Ringstrasse, taking in many of the city’s most famous buildings. Continue into the city centre for a guided walking tour, featuring highlights including St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben and Hofburg Palace.
Day 6 – Bratislava, Slovakia
Today, discover Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, on a guided walking tour of the Old Town. See St Martin’s Cathedral, Primatial Palace, Main Square and Michael’s Gate, the city’s only surviving original entrance. This evening, celebrate the conclusion of your river cruise with a Captain’s Farewell Dinner.
Day 7 – Budapest, Hungary
Awake to views of Budapest, one of the Danube’s most enchanting cities. Disembark for a guided tour, seeing highlights including Heroes’ Square and St. Stephen’s Basilica. Enjoy free time this afternoon to explore independently, or visit the Hospital in the Rock Museum beneath Buda Castle (additional cost).
Day 8 – Budapest, Disembark Ship
After breakfast, disembark your river ship and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
