Regent Cruise Tour Itinerary
Sail through the Kiel Canal and discover the treasures of Northern Europe, from the elegance of Copenhagen to the historic shores of Gdansk and beyond
Day 1 – Embark In Southampton, UK
We embark the beautiful ship Balmoral at Southampton, our home for the next 10 nights.
Day 2 – At Sea
A wonderful day at sea to relax and explore the fabulous facilities on Balmoral, our floating hotel.
Day 3 – Cruising the Kiel Canal
Today we continue our cruise along the famous Kiel Canal, witnessing the impressive Brunsbüttel and Holtenau lock systems in operation. From the ship, watch water levels being adjusted and the huge lock gates opening to allow safe passage between the North Sea and Baltic Sea through this remarkable engineering waterway.
Day 4 – Trelleborg, Sweden
The southernmost town in Sweden, Trelleborg, is known as the ‘City of Palm Trees’ and boasts a rich Viking heritage. Visit the Trelleborg Viking Fortress, one of the world’s best-preserved circular Viking fortresses, featuring reconstructed houses, a recreated longhouse and original earthworks that bring the Viking Age vividly to life.
Day 5 – Gdansk, Poland
Gdansk is Poland’s maritime capital, renowned for its rich history, riverside promenades and impressive architecture. Explore the historic Main Town, where elegant streets and squares showcase a blend of architectural styles, museums and monuments. The city’s vibrant waterfront and cultural heritage make it one of Poland’s most fascinating destinations.
Day 6 – Ventspils, Latvia
Set on Latvia’s scenic west coast, Ventspils blends golden Baltic beaches with rich Hanseatic heritage. Stroll cobbled streets adorned with colourful cow sculptures by local and international artists, admire the town’s renowned flowers and fountains, and explore the impressive 17th-century castle at the heart of the historic old town.
Day 7 – Klaipeda, Lithuania
Klaipeda, Lithuania’s only port city, has a proud maritime heritage reflected in its museums, seafaring traditions and biennial tall ships regatta. Despite significant post-war changes, its old town retains charming half-timbered buildings and historic monuments. Visit the Lithuanian Sea Museum and Klaipeda Castle Museum to discover the region’s rich maritime and cultural history.
Day 8 – Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen, one of Europe’s oldest capitals, boasts a monarchy dating back to the 8th century. Visit Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace and Rosenborg Castle, home to the Danish Crown Jewels. Don’t miss the iconic Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s 1836 fairy tale.
Day 9 – Cruising the Kiel Canal
Relax and enjoy a scenic day cruising along the Kiel Canal, one of Europe’s most important waterways. Sail past peaceful countryside and canal-side villages while watching maritime traffic navigate this remarkable route. Enjoy ever-changing views from the comfort of your ship as you experience Germany’s landscapes and engineering heritage.
Day 10 – At sea
A day at sea, perhaps treat yourself to afternoon tea or a spa treatment or just have time to yourself.
Day 11 – Arrival Back Into Southampton, UK
Arrive back into Southampton this morning, for your onward journey home.

Cruise Information – Fred. Olsen Balmoral
Balmoral is named after the Scottish residence of the British Royal Family. Thanks to her smaller size, she is able to navigate some of Europe’s most picturesque waterways. Balmoral is perfect for scenic cruising. Guests on board have plenty of space in which to relax, in elegant and comfortable lounges, bars and public areas, including the alfresco Poolside restaurant and Marquee Bar.
Balmoral has several restaurant options including the main restaurant Ballindalloch, The Grill for speciality dining and Palms Café for relaxed dining.
Cabin Facilities include: Climate control, interactive smart TV, desk, phone, mini-fridge, hairdryer and Tea & Coffee making facilities.

Important Information
Mobility Information Disabled access cabins can be requested at time of booking but are not guaranteed. On all cruises you must be able to board and disembark the ship unaided, the ship cannot assist due to liability. If you require the use of a wheelchair or scooter THIS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. Unless you can safely move around the ship independently a travelling companion would be required as our tour manager cannot assist. At many ports the use of stairs or tenders may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. It also may not be possible to participate in the programme of shore excursions.
